Long story short, yesterday I Snapchat had an update, so I removed the app and now it says "This app is incompatible with all of your devices".

I've tried previous versions of the app, and I keep getting this error.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
Android version: 2.3.6

I think you might be out of luck unless you have the data backed up. Even if you find a version that is compatible with your device from apkmirror or something Snapchat stop you from logging in to some of the older verions of the app, the only workaround I know of is if you happen to have backed up the data, downloading old version the restoring the data (being log in token etc). Hope I'm wrong though.
But that error would suggest either a bad download, you don't have unknown sources checked (in security, Allow unknown sources), or the version you are trying to download is still too high for your phones compatibility. Do you know the version you were running before?

Problems with parsing are usually that the APK you're trying to install is incomplete or corrupted. Where did you obtain the previous versions of Snapchat from?

unfortunately I don't remember the current version I was using. However, the version I was using wouldn't let me sign in due to the new update which led to this problem.

Disappointing since I was using the application for months without any troubles, but now I now I face capability problem.

Are there any other alternatives?

Yeah that's what I feared, unfortunately without the backup of your latest working login I doubt you can do it. I know there are third party apps on app store that mimic Snapchat (still pulling data from snapchat so same logins and friends etc). But wouldn't know which are OK to trust giving them log in details etc. Also in the forums I take part in regarding Xposed modules related to snapchat, I have heard that some of them can get your Snapchat account blocked by Snapchat if they see you using some of the other apps

That sucks, if anyone can recommend alternative Apps which use the same login I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks for the replies, I now have a better understanding.

Time to buy a new phone. -,-

Just had a thought, if you are rooted, and one of your friends with a newer phone are, you could log in on your friends phone on a new release snapchat, backup the data with titanium, upload it to cloud or save it to SD and swap into your phone or something. Then restore the data back in a stable version of Snapchat your phone supports? It's an arse about way of doing it but may be your only real option. If you aren't rooted I can't think of any other way to help...unless anyone knows of an app that can backup / restore an apps data only without root?

Hey guys, sorry I left it so long but I had a thought.

Is it possible to force download a new OS on my android so it goes to version 4.0. I tried getting Jellybean but when it installed it didn't work correctly, not how it should of anyway.

I've tried every version of Snapchat, the older versions actually download!! But when I sign in I get an error saying its no longer supported. :(

Android has to be built for the specific device - there is no generic Android 4 that you can download on any phone. So unless your manufacturer has provided an official update your only option is to root and install a custom ROM based on a newer Android version. But that is only an option if somebody has made one for that device. Otherwise, unless you have the skills to do it yourself, the only way is to get a newer phone.
