Hi. I've read how-to's online about how to install a driver manually on Nexus 4 but it doesn't work for me.
If I uninstall Nexus 4 from the device manager, the device stops appearing there until I re-plug the phone. When I do, the default driver installs right away. I get no option to install my own driver.
I can select "update driver" from the device manager and even browse to the new one that I intend to install, but after clicking "Next" it just tells me that the phone already has a driver installed and working, and it doesn't let me install my own.
How do I get rid of the default one and replace it with the one that I want?!? Thank you.

Where did you get this other driver and how sure are you that it would work? Would there even be an expected difference? Because if the default driver works fine, I see no reason to change it with something that may possibly be malware if taken from the wrong source.
