cant install max payne?

Hi, I've got a really weird problem. I bought Max Payne for my Samsung S2 a few weeks ago, and i'm finding it a really good game.
However, I've just bought a Samsung S3 and I'm in the process of transferring my apps from the play store, and so far, I've managed to get them except Max Payne! Whenever I try to download my bought copy, The message appears " your device is not compatible with this version"

How on earth can I get my game back?? I wouldn't mind if it was free, but this is a paid game?!!! are they saying you can't transfer the game to my new phone?? Help!!!

The problem your hitting is the developer has the ability to tell the Play Store which devices an app is compatible with. The idea is to make sure a device can run an app before letting people buy it. Makes sense.

If an app is demanding on hardware, the developer may limit it a lot. If Max Payne is like that, the developer may have only specified a few devices are compatible and if the S3 wasn't out yet, then it may not be on the list. The developer just needs to update their list for new devices.

None of this helps you get your beloved app back, but maybe understanding makes it hurt less. Or not, that part is up to you. ;)

I guess I'm going to have to wait until the developers update the game so that it can play on the S3. At least I still have the copy!

You can go through the hurdle of backing up an apk file. That's what I do when I hit the device is incompatible thing.

I buy it on a device that is compatible and download it. After it's finished downloading, I backup the apk file (I use My Backup Pro). I use X-Plore file manager to nab the apk file in question and put it into network drive and then scoop it up from there on the incompatible device.

Use X-Plore again to navigate to the apk file and install.

Only thing that will go wrong is if the device is really incompatible and the app does something weird, crashes or trashes the phone and you need to do a soft-reset.

Done this a few times already and some do actually work despite it saying incompatible.

That is what they are saying. The developers have not made the game available for the GS3 yet. You can Email the developers, and tell them about this problem. I bought Asphalt 6, with my Galaxy Tab, but it does not work with my Nexus. So... When ever I get a new Tablet, it might work with Asphalt 6, and I can start playing it again. It's not a big deal for me. You still own the app, and if you have a device that can play it, you can re-install it to that device, for no cost.

For this, I do suggest contacting the developers. The people who work with the support are usually really nice. Gameloft customer support gave me a free game once because N.O.V.A. was not downloading for my Nexus 7, so they offered me a free game that works with the Nexus 7 for free for the inconvience. Nice people.
