Cant join contacts!!!

i cant join contacts on my galaxy s...i join them...and it says they r joined...but when i go back into contacts they r still not joined...have so many duplicates...please help!!!

Glad to have you here.
Are your contacts in your gmail and duplicated there?
You can go to gmail on your computer and click on the "find and merge duplicates" from there.
Is that what you mean?

You mean they still appear as separate? You can hide them by going to contacts>menu>display options>and uncheck the contacts you want to hide.
