Can't log into Market

A while back Youtube had me change my profile so it could merge with my Google account and basically nulified my old account. For some reason when I tried to get into the Android market today, it asked me to log into my old youtube account to proceed. Unfortunately this account no longer exists so it is impossible for me to log in. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try clearing the market app data. That might have the market sync with the Google account the phone is registered to. go to menu>settings>applications>manage applications, tap the all tab, scroll down to the market and select it. Clear both the cache and the app data, then reboot your phone.
