can't open attachments in stock e-mail app

The stock e-mail app is the only app that actually works with my exchange account. I've tried touchdown, it won't sync my e-mail (syncs but doesn't pull any messages from server). k9 couldn't configure my account/connect to the server.

so for now I'm stuck using the stock e-mail app and have never been able to open e-mail attachments. when i go to the attachment 1 tab and click the document icon on the left side, a blue bar starts going like it's opening, and then it will stop and nothing opens. when I click the disk icon, same thing happens and it does not save in my downloads folder and sometimes I just get a connection error like "can't connect to server".

I downloaded Kingsoft office which will open attachments in gmail but nothing from the stock app. PDFs don't open either with adobe.

Has anyone had this issue? Is it a server problem??
 
I am on a very slow network and just tried clicking the save button on the attachment tab. It was an excel file. I had to wait for some time to load, but then it loaded without any issues.
 
I'm sure this isn't helpful but just in case you weren't sure, this feature does work for me with exchange...
 
I have the same issue! I have 3 email accounts, 2 are Exchange. The two Exchange emails will not open ANY attachments. My POP email account can with no issue.

Help!
 
You really must not use stock email app.it is poorly coded and will cause massive internal complications.may I suggest K-9?
