Root Cant Overclock

I seem to b having a prob with my dinc. I have tried to overclock with diff kernals. none seem to work.. cant get past 998mhz. I have changed roms several time to try to c if that helps. it dont.. im running the new R2doesinc gingerbread now.( BTW best Rom so far..) and i tried to overclock it with set cpu last night and if i go above 998mhz it freezes up and all i can do is restore back to a diff backup.. is anyone else having this problem.. i know with my old dinc i never had a problem finiding at least something other than stock that would work.. im just spent on it... any suggestions...
 
EDIT: nevermind,I just saw you have been able to overclock it just jacks up your phone. Try not going over 1.13, it may run well there. If I go up much more my phone goes nuts.
 
Invisiblek #21 with Cyanogen 6.1 runs well overclocked for me.
 
Overclocking is very phone specific, some incredibles have been able to reach 1.19 while others can't even use 1.13.

In set cpu don't check the box that says "set on boot" this way you won't have to do a restore if your phone locks up.
 
I believe it's also kernel specific. I was using a Hydra kernel which performed fine OC'd to 1.15 then I recently flashed kings BFS # 4 and it was unstable @ 1.15. I had to bring it down to 1.11
