Can't permanently delete photos

I need a little help. I'm trying to delete some photos. I select the picture hit the trash and say to delete everywhere. I then go to the trash and empty it. They appear to be gone, but the next time I look they are back. How on earth can I delete them permanently?

Gallery>soft menu>Content to display. Check and see if something like Picasa is selected. The phone will pull in photos that may be in any of these outside sources that are selected, even if the same photos were deleted on your phone.

Thanks, but only what's on this device is chosen. I was able to finally get rid of them by connecting to my computer and deleting it from there.
