I am over the 25 post limit, but it still tells me I am unable to post...

AFAIK the only restriction is the 25 posts, but there could be something else. Anyway, I move this to the suggestion box and feedback forum as the admin is more likely to see it and let you know why.

The job that checks post count and gives you permissions only runs once an hour - so it could take that long for the change to take effect.
