Root Can't reboot into recovery

I just got a Nexus 7 tablet. I used m.sabra's 1-click method to unlock the bootloader, root, and install SuperSU and TWRP. It worked like a champ, and I thought I was good to go for installing all my apps/data from my previous tablet using the update.zip files I created with TiBu. I have the zip files in place on my Nexus 7, but I can't boot into recovery to install them.

Using both the manual boot method (Power + Vol down) and from inside apps (TiBu, ROM Toolbox, Quickboot) I can get into the bootloader menu just fine, but when I choose to go into Recovery Mode from there it simply goes to the white "Google" screen and then back into the normal boot process. I never get to the dead-looking Android guy with the exclamation mark.

How do I boot into recovery so I can install the update.zip files?

There might not be a recovery on the device. If the device is rooted, you could use goomanager to reinstall twrp and then see how that goes.

How can that be? Forums are loaded with posts on how to get into recovery (the steps just aren't working in my case), and I thought that was one of the purposes of the Nexus devices - easy access to rooting/tweaking.

It is easy compared to many devices because there's no exploits that have to be found our used in order to root the device. But it sounds like after rooting, the auto reflash of the stock recovery got corrupted or didn't flash correctly. If that's the case, then all that needs to be done is to reflash recovery either through the bootloader, or the recovery script found in goomanager.

Rom Toolbox can also flash any recovery, including older versions. Just go to rom management, swipe left and flash recovery. This is great when a bad version comes out and you need to roll back.

Success! I flashed TWRP again through ROM Toolbox (I have the Pro version, too - WELL worth it!) and everything worked perfectly. Thanks for your help!
