Help Can't receive texts or calls while connected to Wifi

Hi,

I'm using the galaxy S2 and up until now it worked fine but for some reason all of a sudden when I'm connected via wifi I can't receive texts or calls, if anyone rings me they get a message saying my phone is currently unavailable. I can however make calls and send texts no problem.

Once i switch off the wifi and use 3g it all works fine again.

This might sound silly but I have the wifi on non stop, could that have anything to do with it?

I'm just confused as it worked fine a few days ago

Thanks

D.

After some more google surfing I found the follow which worked..

Go to your network settings and change your network mode to 'gsm only'

Still not sure what the problem actually was. Thought it may be useful for others

thanks for the tip, in case someone has ur same problem. i find it kinda strange though. my network mode is set to Auto, and im connected to wifi all the time, and i have no such problem..which firmware are u on? :)

How do I find out what firmware I'm running? is that the build number? Gingerbread.bukg2, android version 2.3.3. I'm thinking this needs updated yes?

Funny thing now is my wife is on vodafone as well but she has a blackberry and today she's having the same problem. I think I might pop along to the vodafone shop or give them a call as this seems very strange.

I can confirm however my phone is still working fine after changing to gsm only, should I expect any issues from not having it set as auto so not allowing WCDMA?
