Can't root Android / No data folder

Hi ! So, it's my first thread here, i'm a rookie, and don't know much about the rules of the forum ( except the basic ones ), and also a rookie on the android
:D

So, let's just get started

As the title says, i can't root my Android.
It's an MID
Model : E1 - Challenger
Android Ver 2.3.1
Kernel Ver 2.6.32.27
Wow, the firmware is too long to write :D
And the build rk29_gingerbread_V 1.28

- First attempt
I rooted My MID with SuperOneClick, it was successful if we look what it says. But seems like it is READ ONLY while installing the su ( idk what it is ) app. :D

-I don't know what it says, but as i know. There is NO data folder in the root explorer

- Second attempt : i tried to use Universal Androot, and it is force closed for IDK reason.

So, my most concerned problem is : HOW TO CHANGE the system to Writable ?

I fit isn't the problem, what is it ?

So, thanks before for reading this, ann i hope you can help with my problem here :)

Welcome to Android Forums.:)

I am not familiar with your phone so I will give this disclaimer, I don't know if SuperOneClick is compatible with it.

I do know that SupeOneClick needs to be run as administrator for it to work if you are using Windows. To do this right click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and choose "Run as...".

I hope this helps.
