Help cant send txt msgs

i have just got this handset this morning.

i receive txt msgs fine but cant send any out.

i called t mobile to see if they could fix the prob and they said its coz i dont have a message center number so he gave me a number 2 put in which started with a + but it wont let me put the plus sign at the start only lets me put in numbers?

the guy at t mobile said it was a prob with the hand set? but i can put in the + sign into a normal txt message fine just not into the message center bit?

they are sending me a new hand set to try 2moro but i dunno if this will fix it?

also said something about that my sim card mite be to old?

In the number they gave you, try using '00' instead of '+' i.e instead of '+44...', use '0044...'

It's the same on my Spica/Portal. It's weird that you can't put a plus into that field. It only wasn't an issue for me because my phone had it pre-set

For info, you can't send receive MMS either until you setup your phone, and then send 1 MMS.

To put a + in, just press and hold the 0 (zero) key.
