Can't set MP3 as ringtones

BryanAsus

Newbie
I have been using a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active for years. Recently, I dropped it. Screen shattered. Now I got a new one. Resetup my phone, and I'm trying to assign the default ringtone with an MP3. When I find the MP3 I want, I select it, and it says "This file format is not supported."

The file is located on the device itself, not a microsd.

The file played before when I had my other phone.

I can't even set individual text tones like I had previously

Any idea why?

I have a lot of disabled apps that came with the device, simply because I don't use them. Maybe it's one of the 30 I disabled? Any idea how to get the MP3 ringtone to work?

Thanks!
