can't setup Chrome browser on MXIII 4k

Hi all

I setup this new Android box (Lollipop 5.1) with an existing gmail account and following that it let me download Chrome from Play Store... so the gmail account is valid.. I even setup a new one bit no go.

However despite many tries i cannot get past 'accept the agreement and pick the gmail account section..

It just seems as if it goes off to approve it but never does. I cannot get it to fully setup.. only install.

So I cannot use my usual browser on it.

Any ideas or similar things happen to others? Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion!

as well as the other one.. the APK.. I just don't know what that is.. sorry.

Many thanks

...the APK.. I just don't know what that is.. sorry.

Think of an Android .AKP file as you would a Windows .EXE file!

It's simply a program container that you can install on your device.
All apps on your phone are downloaded as .AKPs and are then unpacked and installed on your phone/box, etc.

The Google PlayStore is a storage area of .AKPs... Android programs.

Well.. I don't know what to say except thanks for the tip..

It worked and the install took me beyond the screen it froze at before.. I can get on with the Chrome Beta now just fine.

All I need to know now is how to delete the test gmail accounts on the TV box... :(

I can see them in accounts section but not how to delet one of them.

I'm so pleased with your help!

update:

I couldn't find out how to remove the temporary gmail account so I reset the box and found the link to the APK for Chrome.. I chose the standard installation but it froze again at the 'choose gmail account' part.

So i went back and chose a Beta version.. it came up and told me to update the Play services first!
I'm thinking if that was the problem before and Play Services has been the problem?

anyway after updating this the Chrome beta installed very quickly..

This might help someone else.

Again thanks for the pointer.. i'd be stuffed right now!

I'm thinking that you are right. Google Play Services has to be installed and working correctly before the PlayStore and other Google services (music, movies, photos, etc) will work.

Now - I dare you to install Chrome Canary! Ha ha!
