Can't stop Kies from loading at PC boot

This is my first post here so hi everyone .

My problem is I can't prevent Kies (latest version) from loading at boot of my PC. (Still on WinXP). And my phone is not connected - of course. No Wi-Fi - no USB. Nothing.

I'm rather used to computers, so I never had this problem before. I have always been able to stop software from loading by using freeware tools like Revo Uninstaller where you can see and manage the boot list. I also checked msconfig, tried another freeware tool, but nothing happens. I can uncheck two files in boot list, but still it loads at startup.

I have also been through every menu in Kies but nowhere to find an uncheck for loading at startup. Annoying..

I have not yet uninstalled/install Kies, but I'll try that if no one here in forum can advise me how to stop the loading.

Kies works fine, that's not the problem. And the phone is excellent. No problems with battery drain or freezing like in other postings here.

I have the same problem.
I even tried to pause Kies ar startup with Soluto, but it can't even get paused.
This is another bad thing with Kies: why should I keep it in the startup, if I can launch it whenever I need it (which is only seldom)?

weird. I'm using XP myself and I don't come across this problem ever.

1. Click START button
2. In the search files and folders dialog type MSCONFIG and hit enter
3. Click Startup tab, delselect kies and any other garbage you don't want starting on boot.
4. Reboot.

Probably next time you start Kies it will re-insert itself in the startup, haven't tested this.
