Help Can't turn off touch sounds

JanVH

Lurker
Hi,
Ever since I updated my Asus Transformer (TF 101) to ICS, I can't turn off the touch sounds, except when I mute all sounds, but then my notifications don't make any sound as well (and it's quite annoying while watching movies etc)
I unchecked the 'touch sound' option in Settings, but that doesn't fix the issue. Anyone with similar problems or a fix?

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried doing a cold boot since the ICS upgrade? Might be worth a try.

Cold Boot (taken from the Transformer Forums):

Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and
the "Down" volume button together for 6-10 seconds and let them both go. After a few
seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data"
and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list
near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again
and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.

Hi,

Tried cold booting a few times, but doesn't help the problem.
Anyone else has a tip to try? Prefer not to do a factory reset...

Today I discovered the sounds I hear when I touch the screen, are something different then the official touch sounds. (I turned on touch sounds and they are more soft and not so aggresive) When I turn off "Media sounds", I don't here the sounds anymore, when normally the Touch Sounds are being turned off by muting the "System Sounds".

Anybody has a clue?

Not sure why it's not working for you. I went to Settings|Sound & unchecked the Touch sounds check box and the touch sounds stopped immediately; no reboot was necessary.

Any chance you have an app that is causing this?
Don't really know what it could be maybe you can think about when it started a trace it back to something you installed.

Last week I did a factory reset and the problem was still there, without any apps installed on the device.

It's annoying, when listening to music or watching movies. I'll try to contact the service center, but I doubt they will able to help me through the phone...
