cant type in terminal

I just rooted and flashed my phone.

I wanted to enable apps2SD but i can't seem to type the commands in. The keyboard will not show up on the mytouch. I can only get silly symbols thru the trackball.

i'm using "TheOfficial AOSP-1.6_r1.2 DRC92 (Donut) v2.0.3" expansion rom.

All i really wanted was to get apps2SD and wifi tether, i got the wifi tether and not just need to activate apps2SD. The SD is formated. I just cant type in my commands, must be a simple trick to this...
 
that version of terminal only works with a physical keyboard. Go to the market and download an app called better terminal.
