Root Can't uninstall Swype

I got the message that swype expired so I went through the steps of installing the beta one. When I tried unistalling the old version in the Settings/manage apps the option to uninstall wasn't there. So I tried using Better Terminal which is a terminal emulator, but it still wouldn't uninstall. Does anyone know how I can uninstall the stock swype, because I really want to be able to use swype again.

did you try titanium backup

I had the same issue.

Plugged in my phone to my PC.
Searched the SD card for everything Swype.
Deleted .lib and Swype APK and everything else.
REBOOTED!!!!!!
Installed Swype beta.

Reboot is critical, otherwise it won't install.

Thanks guys. I tried using Titanium Backup to uninstall it and was successfull! Got Swype beta installed now.
