Help Can't Update JB UK (Problem continuing)

I have asked this before but never got a resolution.

My phone was bought from CPW. Should be unlocked/bloat free.

I have never been able to update it OTA and Kies never provides updates.

Every time I search OTA it says no update available. JB has been out for months and is now on 4.2. I no longer subscribe to the advice (just wait) previously given.

Kies always maintained it cannot update my phone,

"Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies".

Kies reports current firmware as: PDA:LG8/PHONE:LG8/CSC:LG8 (KOR)

What? Why?

The facts:

AP: I9300XXBLG8
CP: I9300XXLG8
CSC: I9300OXABLG8

Android version: 4.0.4

Baseband version: I9300XXLG8

Build: IMM76D.I9300XXBLG8

Is my phone actually locked to a carrier. Is there a fault. Please someone give me an explanation!
 
If that were me i'd be making a trip to Carphone Warehouse to let them sort it out, at the end of the day your phone has a Samsung warranty but your first point of call should be Carphone Warehouse.

It is 4.1.2 being pushed now. It will be sometime before 4.2 is ready for the S3. Based on what you are showing for your firmware it is a Korean version of the S3 which started 14/12/2012 for the 4.1.2. Yes go back to where you purchased the phone and see if they can help you update.
