Help Can't update to 4.3....

Jaza85

Newbie
For some reason when I'm trying to downland the update at work it won't let me on my mobile network. Is there a way to disable download limit? Is saying because it's over 50mb? I don't wanna have to wait till late tonight to use my wifi :-(

Android 4.3 (specifically knox) is full of bugs... are you really sure to update?

After doing an FDR, I haven't had any issues with 4.3 or KNOX. Can you elaborate on the plethora of bugs of which you speak??
I do 2 FDR, change firmware with english one, and all the time, same message: "An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device" even with the device freshly wiped... So I assume that is a system bug...

"Full of Bugs" is overkill. Yes some people are having problems with the new security software Samsung added but Android 4.3 does not have bugs.

OP, if your provider is limiting the amount you can download I'm afraid WiFi is your only other option.

Yeah... but unfortunately knox come with Android 4.3, and don't forget that we have european firmware: so much different from yours, for example we can't update knox policy...

Just checking. You have not set a data limit in... Settings > Connections > Data usage... have you?

I don't know how big the OTA update is but the PC download for Android 4.3 is around 1.6GB.

No I haven't. I've got 11gb of date to use hence why I don't have the need to wait for wifi :-( Thanks for replying

Any update is going to have users reporting problems. That's why I was surprised that Verizon sent 4.2 and then 4.3 within about two weeks of each other.

For me the only problem with 4.3 has been the phone is now more picky on the chargers that work with it. The main problem with 4.2 was it updated Google Maps to the new sucky version.

It is generally suggested to use wifi for OTA updates (normally Google makes this suggestion right in the notice somewhere). Faster download speed, and the file will less susceptible to corruption.

I've had 4.3 for quite some time and it's not "full of bugs".

"Full of bugs" is clearly an eye of the beholder thing. My S4 had been solid and problem-free until the 4.3 update. Since then, the S4 has all of a sudden become choosy about which chargers it will accept, traffic keeps disappearing from my maps at will (which did not happen in 4.2), and at least one app has become so laggy it is unusable (although, there, I'm hoping it can and will be fixed on the developer's end). I did a FDR (which I consider to be a major annoyance because of the inability to backup app data), which didn't do squat for the problems, and ended up ADDING the problem of the security alerts which came up for no damn reason at all.

OTOH, the only plus I've actually noticed/experienced from 4.3 is that I now have a wi-fi toggle setting. Woo-hoo.

So, yeah, my own personal experience has been that 4.3 wasn't worth it at all. If I could somehow use the wayback machine to undo this update, I totally would. My S4 has gone from a solid dependable workhorse to a temperamental, quirky thing.

I don't seem to have any of those issues, with the exception of the charger thing. That was an issue I noticed with my GS4 when it came out of the box running Android 4.2. The phone charges fine with the USB charging cable that comes with it, and it charges just fine with the USB charging cable that came with my Kindle Paperwhite, but it will not charge using the Samsung Galaxy Nexus USB charging cable. Go figure.

I guess my post sort of Hijacked the thread. Sorry about that.

Big Question .... Did the OP ever get his update downloaded?
