Help Can't update to froyo

I recently sent my phone in for a fix at virgin mobile. I got it back (they ended up fixing nothing - but that's not the point of this thread) but they also downgraded my phone software from 2.2 FROYO to 2.1. I tried to perform an update, but it said there was an error and bought me to the screen that appears when you do a hard reset, then shut off after a second. It rebooted and it was still on the 2.1 software. When I tried to go to the screen to try to perform the update again, it said my phone's software was up to date (which it obviously isn't.) What do.

You can manually download the software to your phone and manually update from the phone. Many of us did that when the upgrade to froyo was rolled out very slowly.

Do a search of this forum around the March-April time frame and you'll find the specific instructions.
