Can't update to new OS

I run Kies and it recognizes my phone and says click to update. I click the option and choose to update with saving, it then starts to DL and says ",preparing to update", it gets to 100% and then Kies just locks up. I have to use Task Manager to exit the program. No update. Nothing.

I also tried to update via the TOOLS menu and get the same thing. What's going on?

Just to be sure, we are talking about the Skyrocket (SGH-i727)? What version of Kies and windows are you using? Is your phone fully charged?

I've had this problem countless times, and I've found the best way to do it is to flash it using CWM or TWRP.
