Help Cant upgrade to ICS

I'm trying to upgrade to ICS via kies. When I plug my phone into my computer it says, "your device does not support upgrade via kies".

here is my phone info:

android version: 2.3.5
baseband version: 1777UCKJ1
kernel version: 2.6.35.7
build number: gingerbread.uckj1

any help would be greatful!

Assuming you have an i777 (which it looks like you have one based in the given info) 1777UCKJ1 is leaked GB firmware for the i777 that was never officially released, which is why it's not working in KIES. Is this a refurbished phone?

Is there a way to reset it back to factory? I tried hard reset, but my phone still shows 1777UCKJ1.

If you feel confident enough to flash the original stock firmware on your phone, then yes.

Otherwise, you'll have to go to AT&T and ask for help. There's no reason that the UCKJ1 firmware should be on there unless someone tinkered with it.

But just curious, why factory reset does not do it?

Nope. All Factory resetting does is wipe the data (Apps, Contacts, Settings, Passwords) on your phone.
