Cant Upload Music from Mac

Hey guys,

My phone is a Samsung Captivate S i896. I have a Macbook Pro (2011 model). I tried to connect my phone and mount it to my Mac to upload music, but I cant seem to figure it out. I googled it, and some people say I need to download apps onto my phone and download a program onto my Mac; however, when I got the phone, the people said music transfer is very straightforward.

I also have a Dell Desktop, so Im wondering if it would be easier to just transfer music from my Mac to my Dell, then try to transfer from my Dell to my phone.

Any tips?

First off, on your phone, go to Menu>Settings>Wireless and Network>USB settings>set to Ask on Connection or Mass Storage. For connecting to your Mac, choose Mass Storage if it is set to Ask on Connection. Your Dell computer can use Kies so you can also use that for Media management. If you use Mass Storage, basically your phone is treated like a USB thumb flash drive. Just copy paste your songs there.

Another method is to download WinAmp for Mac, and use that to manage your songs via mounting as Mass Storage as I previously mentioned, or if you download WinAmp for Android, you can enable wireless sync. I have WinAmp on my phone but never use it for playing music. Its just sitting there for the wireless sync. :-P

You basically have two options for transferring music from your computer.

1. You plug in your device, and when you're asked to mount it as removable storage, you say yes, and then you wait for it to show up on your computer as a removable drive (like a USB stick would). Then you just drag and drop song files on to the drive and eject it when you're done.

2. You use some kind of syncing program to sync your music from your computer to the phone. For example, if you use iTunes, you can install DoubleTwist (you'll have to install the DoubleTwist desktop application on your computer and install the DoubleTwist Android application on your phone) and use that to sync it up when you plug your phone in (the DoubleTwist Android app gives you an option to always mount your phone on your computer every time you plug it in).
