Help Can't use mobile data for Internet when wifi is not available

I have just recently purchased my new phone with metro pcs using the basic $40 plan. However, it will not let me go on the Internet without wifi. Even when I have bars, it says that wifi and mobile data is turned off. I have no problems with calling and texting. Please help.

Seems like you have mobile data turned off. To turn it on do this:

Settings > Wireless & networks - tap More > Cellular networks > Enhanced 4G LTE mode - turn it on > Preferred network type - LTE.

If it still doesn't work contact Metro PCS. You might need to edit the APN settings. Metro will walk you through it if needed..

My phone recently went through the same issue and I saw a YouTube video about it being a virus that used various apps to trick the phone into thinking it's in airplane mode

I got tech support to help me get it right. But there are still apps running, eating up battery life and data sending my ex recordings and forwarding texts. How do I uninstall them
