Help Can't use "ok google"

Anyone else having issues using the "ok google" hot word detection? I am unable to use mine and went to retrain and I keep getting the error can't use microphone, please restart device. I did restart twice and still get the same error.

I had no such issue. You might want to contact Motorola. Make sure your Google Play Services is up to date. You've probably already done this, but go to Google Search --> Settings --> "Ok Google" detection and make sure everything is turned on. That's the only thing I can think of.

I attempted to use OK Google today and it didn't respond. I checked the "OK Google" detection" settings and the choices are grayed out, i.e. not available. Any ideas?

For what it's worth, "ok Google" was either invented by Motorola or Motorola was the guinea pig for Google when they were still owned by them. The original moto X (2013) was the first phone to be "always listening" and the first phone to offer "ok Google" as a feature. It was after that, that Google built it into stock Android. Always listening has to be enabled on any other phone (yea even the Nexus 6 the X's bigger pricier brother.)

SO .... if you use the custom call phrase inherent to the X family you are technically still using Google Now and the functionality is the same. To have them both be able to be active simultaneously would be redundant. Just say'n. ;)
