Help Capacitive & home button not working (hardware problem)

Hello,

I recently had a water damage and couldn't charge my phone anymore. Therefore, I disassembled the S2 I9100 and replaced the charging port. Unfortunately, now the capacitive and the home button are not working anymore (no light and no reaction when pressed).
The buttons were still working before the replacement of the charging port (and after the water damage), so the damage probably occurred during my replacement and not because of the water. So it seems to me that it is a hardware problem and I somehow disconnected the buttons or something similar.

Does anybody know how to repair such a thing? (I couldn't find anything about this topic in several forums)
Help is greatly appreciated and let me know what else I could describe and would be useful for you to know!

It would be my guess that the little ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard got jostled just enough to break the connection to that part of the screen. The first thing I'd do is open up the phone and make sure allt he connections are clean and firm.

So, after reopening the phone, I just discovered that I did not at all connect the button ribbon cable to the motherboard ;)
After connecting it again, everything works fine now!
Thanks for your input :)
