Shortly after I got this message, I received another saying it was gone lol. Anyone tried the 4G data governor remover on the Spirit?

There was a data governor remover for the Esteem, just curious if anyone ever toyed with it. I guess i went over by 150mb or so.
And no, i can't afford it lol, i switched from the $50 plan. When you have 3 kids, you learn where to cut corners.
I don't see removing the governor from the phone any more or less worse than rooting. I am not trying to tether, nor am i trying to hack in to metro.
Then please allow me to illustrate the differences for you. (I'm not trying to be a hard ass here, really, it actually has more to do with my a** already having a kink in it with our already way too prevalent WhereTheHellIsMine-ness going on today.)
First to be clear, I assume you mean some app that would allow you to bypass a data limit. (If that's even possible.) If that's the case, here are the differences;
Rooting your phone has No affect on Anyone Else's phone. Getting free data you haven't paid for removes that amount of bandwidth from the pipeline From those who Have paid for it and thusly so, Are Entitled to it. BIG Galactic Difference. (Yes, that IS the same as that nasty sounding S word...)
I will grant that un-paid for tethering takes $10 a month out of Metro's wallet. And yes, I'd admit that way ass roundaboutly, that affects all of us but that's stretching the argument to me.
To illustrate the stretch use me as an example. I've actually haven't been able to get tether to work for me yet and I've tried a few times mainly to see IF I could. IF I were to tether, it would be for very short periods of time due to WiFi wonkinicitiness. On an 11" netbook. Now here is the key point. Though I might tether unofficially someday, that tethering Absolutely Would Not make any real noticeable difference in the amount of data I've used that month, just in How I used it. Yes, it Would Be different if I was burning through 50 Gs a month tethering but that's not how *I'd* use it (if I could but I can't) The key is that I'd still be getting no more than I paid for and Not Be Adversely Affecting the network (read, my Fellow Users).
And, your hacking into Metro part is too unrelatedly near fetched to bother with.
You aren't alone in wanting something you can't afford, all of us here do I'm sure. Everyone Used to understand that was "normal" before we were taught that All of us are Entitled to the same as everyone else...

Wow lol...
I wasn't suggesting the removal of the data cap. Just the removal of the bottleneck from the phone side, nothing shady.
Anyways, 4 days till the new month starts.
So how much bandwidth are us Unlimited Everything consumers stealing from the pipeline?
Gah, the Esteem forum was so much better.
Did you read the conversation? He pays I'm assuming a lower tiered plan and he wanted away around to continue using data that others have to pay for. In what world is that okay? Idk maybe the esteem community was a pile of freeloaders so yeah maybe for you it was better.
p-bOt said:its not supposed to be able to let you go over your allotted amount lol. but it is supposed to be able to keep you at a more consistent data speed for whatever type of data you are on at the moment whether it be 4g, 3g, or 1x for that matter![]()
I think p-b0t said it best..
It's amazing to me how many people make assumptions when they haven't done the research, (ie: stealing bandwidth, trying to get something I didn't pay for, etc.) We're all here for the same common interest, our Spirits. I can't speak for the rest of you but I am here to learn and to gain/give information from others, not to cut other people down. That being said, I'm gonna see if p-b0t has time to make this work for our phones.
Or maybe you could actually Read and Comprehend what was typed to you...
One of mine in the form of a question not any statement or accusation, the other clearly identifying what I was assuming to be true.
It's YOUR thread not anyone elses, YOU are the one that titled it CAPPED!! not us. CAPPED!! would signal to most any member here that you have an issue with the TOTAL amount of Data being delivered Not whether that stream was steady or not.
When you're not clear with YOUR thread, you shouldn't be surprised when people are just as unclear with their responses.
It isn't Always Someone ELSE'S fault.
