Help Captivate heating up and battery draining

My captivate has been heating up and the battery draining in just hours .. went to ATT store NO HELP...got a new battery same thing .. have an icon on the top bar that seems new and never goes away ...looks like a sync icon [white circle with two round arrows]?....can that be my problem thanks

Sounds like you have a defective phone. I had a similar problem once. Call AT&T's 1-800 number and they should send you a refurbished one.

I've seen a bad battery cause this.
