Car Craddle for G3 with Quick Circle Case

Has anybody got a recommendation or is using a good phone cradle for the car for use with the Quick Circle Case

I usually use a Brodit cradle (perfectly fits the phone), but the G3 I am getting comes with a free quick circle case, and wondered if there was any good cradles around, that will fit securely with the quick circle case attached

If you don't have your phone on car mode or use it for NAV purposes, and just need something to charge it, I'd get a wireless quick circle case and a wireless car charging cradle.

LG has an OEM one that has an insert location for their circle quick charging pad (check out the accessory thread, for more info).

There are also a lot of other 3rd party car cradles that will work with the proclip (brodit) base mounts. Most of them use richter connectors, instead of garmin, but you can pick up a relatively inexpensive AMPS richter connector from Amazon.

Thanks for the info Drex .... I took a look through the accessory thread, but could see anything on the LG OEM one you mentioned, you got any link to it

I did see the following, but not sure if that would fit on a pro-clip, I actually have the pro-clip already for the mount for my S3, so that would be really handy

Also, not sure what you mean by a richter connector ... help :-)

Used my phone as a sat nav for the first time yesterday. I have it in a quick circle case and I had difficulty getting it to stay in the universal holder I always use. Shall have to do some homework

And, in order to mount it, I had purchased a proclip dash mount (it's really just a base), so that any "phone mount" that I decide to purchase in the future would only need to have either a standard size garmin ball joint (female) socket or richter 4 prong female.

with the itian mount, you need the richter connector.

when you get the itian mount, you need to remove the ball joint connector, which just slides off
 
Nope, not from what I could see, although was surfing in work time so will have to look some more later ... hope I can get it

Good stuff. I really prefer the itian mount. It just feels so much more secure than the others. The lever release for the side clamps feel heavier too, so it's definitely well thought out.

My only complaint about qi wireless charging is the fact that it doesn't really carry the 2.1a charging, even if plugged into a 2.1a charger, but like I mentioned earlier, if my battery is suffering, I just insert the charger directly to the phone, rather than in the holder. Where this plays the biggest factor is using navigation, the charge only prevents rapid battery drain.
 
Just like to say a big thanks to DrEx for the advice on a QI car dock. ordered the itian dock with the Richter connector, and with the original proclip. the cradle arrived today and fitted to the car and it works really well, both with the quick circle case on and even with it open and tucked behind, so I can see the screen, and the wireless charging still works

Werrrd, Albie. Glad it works for you and good to hear that it works, even with the Quick Circle cover.

I am sure you will notice how it doesn't charge or has slow drain when using nav, but when not using nav, it charges just fine.
 
I just found a solution by printing a brodit proclip for my LG G3 with Circle cover. I took a model from thingiverse and modified it by increasing the size by 1.14. And that is exactly the size for my LG G3 with the cover. The phone itself fits and can't fall out and the cover still can be opened.

Just find somebody with a 3d printer, download the model from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:184314 and increase size by 1.14. And 3 hours later you have a proclip that fits the phone with cover!

I'll try to upload a picture on the Thingiverse site.
