Help Car Cradle mode

Has anyone had trouble with their phone after using the car cradle mode? I bought the Samsung dash-mount cradle for the Samsung Mesmerize. Yesterday, I used the cradle and when you hook the phone up to it, the phone automatically goes into the car cradle mode. No problems with that. But the phone sure acted strangely afterwords. I ended up having to do a battery pull to get things back to normal.??

What is it doing to act strangely?

I've used Car Cradle mode a few times, but I find that I really only ever use the navigation feature, so I quite using the cradle mode. I just pop a shortcut to NAV on my homescreen when I know I'm going to need the nav for a while.
