car dock problems

after I remove the phone from the dock, the battery charging indicator still shows that it is charging (when it is unplugged) and the GPS keeps flashing.

I am not sure if this is draining the battery or not (by keeping the GPS running) or if it is just a bug by showing that it is when it isn't.

Battery seems to drain faster, but I can't be sure.

I'm in the same boat, but hopefully Gingerbread fixed this.

Any news on this? Gingerbread hasn't made a difference for me. It's the most annoying thing about this phone at this point as I am forced to either plug in to a wall outlet or reboot the phone to fix the problem. And yes, the battery discharges noticeably faster if left alone with a false charging status...

Sometimes it does it. I try to ignore it. Im gonna factory reset tomorrow and most likely learn how to root.

If you're NOT rooted and you have this problem, that helps. I AM rooted and was thinking that something I altered was the cause of the issue. If you're saying that you are having the same problem, that suggests it is not due to root.

I DO have the problem regardless of the car dock. If I'm plugged in to the Motorola charger in the car with or without the dock, the problem occurs.

Other forums suggest the problem is charging and running GPS simultaneously. I haven't figured out if GPS was active in all the cases where my phone wound up stuck in charging mode...

I wish we could determine if this is a problem for all X2 users or just a small subset...

It is not due to root. I haven't rooted mine, and the GB update did not fix it. I can also say that it will occur intermittently even if GPS (Google Nav) is *NOT* running.

I have this occur rarely after charging (either car dock or regular ac power). I feel that it's more of an annoyance than anything. Either plugging in and out again fixes the issue, or restarted the phone fixes it. If you experience this after every time you unplug (and are annoyed by it), your best bet would be a factory reset.

I just got the phone like a week ago or less, mine does that too, turn it off and back on, it takes car of it. I still love the phone over my Storm2

Is there any way to disable the car dock? I am having an issue where when I put my phone in the holster it goes into car dock mode and stays lit up the entire time its in it. I think it might have something to do with the magnets in the holster.
