Help Carrier can lock phone during activation??

I just got a LG V20 H910 which is the AT&T branded version of the V20. It shows the AT&T logo as it boots.

I've heard that the boot loader can be unlocked via a fastboot command (I've looked at my Dev options; the setting is available).

But I've also heard that AT&T will re-lock it as soon as I activate it. True???

not true. once the boot loader is unlocked, you can then root and install a custom recovery like TWRP.

If anyone has a source for H910 STOCK ROMS, please let me know.

I've searched all over the 'net and have been unable to find any.

I think there may be away to extract them from the actual device with LGUP, but haven't tried that yet.
