Help Case and Screen protector

I'm getting a motorola milestone 2. I haven't gotten the phone yet, so I havent seen what it actually looks like and feels like.

Is it necessary to get a case and screen protectors for it? If so, what cases do people suggest? I was thinking maybe a silicon one, but I don't know if it'll make the phone very bulky.

Also, I've heard that the screen is made of glass and doesn't scratch easily, so do I need to get screen protectors? I thought maybe screen protectors would lessen the sensitivity on the touch screen.

I've got an Invisishield on mine. Adds hardly any bulk and is protective. Only problem is that because its made of a couple of pieces, some of the smaller ones come away after a while.

I've had mine for about 3 months now.

No protectors or cases, not a single scratch and I'm not that careful with it.

Gorilla glass on the display I believe.

Is there any protector that will help keep smudges off? thanks Dave
