Case and screen protector?

Hey guys, just got this tablet and i was wondering is i should get a case and/or a screen protector. If yes what kind should i get?

I planned to continuously carry my tablet in my purse. So I just went ahead and bought the Belkin book cover and Verizon store screen protector at the time of purchase. Better safe than sorry. The screen gets lots of fingerprints - I don't know if the protector exacerbates the prints but it keeps scratches away.

I also bought the Belkin case, no screen protector yet, I might not at any point, but I'm scared not to. Lol.

I like the Belkin one, but I wish they had a Otterbox Defender like the iPad. That would be a great case.

I ordered an Samsung book style case from eBay:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

The screen protector is hardly noticeable and doesn't affect the image quality. That's why I decided to order another one for my Tab. I did want to try getting the Brando matte screen protector, but I didn't want to risk having issues with image quality/rainbow effect.

I cut off part of the corners in preparation for the case, but I still have the pieces if I wanted to attach them later. Normally the skin would go all the way down and wrap around the edge.

It's a tight fit. The back skinomi skin peeled off in parts of the corners because it was such a tight fit! I didn't trim enough off.

The book cover is a nice tight fit. Too tight if you have a skin of any kind on there, so either make sure you trim enough off or leave the skin off the back.

The material seems to be pretty nice so far. It's has a nice texture to it. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic. More like a blend of plastic can silicon/rubber. The fit an finish is mostly nice. The only complaint I have so far is the flap. The 3 magnets that are inside the flap aren't very strong so it barely holds the flap close and it doesn't close all that tight. I'm not sure how this compares to the case for the Tab 8.9/10.1 which are Samsung designs vs this KIRF case. It holds well enough.

Once the case is fully open, the flap folds all the way over and provides a nice grip on the left side if you're holding it in portrait mode. This makes the Tab a lot more comfortable to hold. It's still possible to lay the Tab flat if you just leave the flap hanging out.

There's a slot on the back of the case that allows the flap to fit into the slop to prop up the Tab. it's a nice angle but it's not adjustable and probably not solid enough to type on.

All in all, it's a pretty nice case. If the flap held closed more securely I'd say it's a near perfect case. As it is, I'd give this case an 8/10. It's a good value at less than $20.

I hope this was helpful for anyone considering this case.

Picked up the above case and would have to agree. Good Value for the money. Seems durable, only time will tell though. Tab fits snug but the magnets are weak. Oh and it opens the wrong way IMO. The hinge material kinda blocks the power and volume buttons.
