Help Case-Mate affecting battery?

Hi Everyone,

This may sound a bit weird but has anybody noticed their Case-Mate Barely There affecting their battery life?

I only ask because I've been using a Case-Mate gel case for weeks and the battery was phenomenal. But it's a pain in the neck to take off and put back on every day which I need to do as my S2 has to come out of it to slip into my running armband.

I bought a white Case-Mate Barely there which looks the business and comes off easily but have since noticed that my battery runs down quicker. I wondered if the material is forcing the antenna to work extra hard or something as 'Cell Standby' appears a bit more in my battery usage but it does sound a little far fetched. Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't really installed any battery hogging apps or widgets and have frozen the bloatware.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks :)

I think you could be right lavellep, i have noticed a decresed signal strength and battery life since i put my clear case mate barely there case on my s2 , like you id like someone to confirm whether its possible or whether we are crazy....

Glad I'm not the only one. Normally, I could go about 1h 45m on standby before I went down from 100% to 99% but now, I manage about 20 mins and then I'm down to 98%. Not a biggie but annoying nonetheless and I suppose the case mate metal is covering the antenna.

Anyone else?

If the case has affected your signal then there is a good chance that it has affected your battery as your phone will be draining power trying to search for signal.

I guessed that. Thing is sometimes signal is OK but I'm not monitoring it 24 hours a day so don't know. Wondered if anyone else is noticing the battery drain as much

Same here guys. Even i have noticed my battery getting drained sooner after i have the case mate barely there case on my phone.

hmmm, strange. i do have some other case but similar and i dont experience such issues...
