Accessories Case Mate Barely There review

Not a lot to say. I was looking for a case that could protect from random scratches better than going "naked" but without making my phone bigger than it already was. Ordered a Case Mate Barely There case and so far it seems pretty nice.

Pros:

  • Covers the back and sides to protect from scratches
  • Keeps the camera from touching the table when you lay it on its back
  • Lightweight and barely adds to the bulk of a relatively large phone
  • Comes with a screen protector and microfiber cloth
  • Relatively cheap

Cons:

  • Won't protect against abuse or heavy stress
  • Screen protector has a tab to hold the protector while aligning it. The tab is attached with a cheap sticker and I could not peel it off without leaving a ton of glue. Had to use Goo-gone to get the residue off and that was not cool.
  • You have to push down on the opposite side of the kickstand to get it to pop out. Can't reach the side that opens easily.

Overall I am very happy. I wasn't sold on a screen protector and I may still take this one off but it is nice that it came with one. The case is great. Just the amount of protection I wanted without any real added bulk. For the cost this is an excellent choice.

I know this is an old post, but to anyone out there reading it. The reason he had sticky residue on removing his second sticker from the screen protector is because the screen protector with two tabs (stickers) is a dual layer screen protector, the top layer is supposed to be removed after the protector is installed. The first tab(sticker) is removed before putting on the screen protector. The second is lifted which pulls off the top layer of the screen protector leaving the bottom layer on the phone screen. Instead this chap removed the sticker leaving the top layer on the screen. This top layer is supposed to be removed with the sticker. And this poor gent is walking around with both layers on his screen. There's a Youtube video by Case mate on there screen protectors explaining this.

Hope this helps for anyone out there with a two label screen protector from Case mate worrying about the sticky residue left over from the second tab.
