Case? Screen protector?

Okay, so pre-orders have been placed. For most of us, anyway... Is anyone thinking about cases or screen protectors yet? I don't want to have to go too long walking around with a brand new phone and no protection on it, but Boxwave and Seidio don't have anything listed yet. (Those are my two choice manufacturers for this stuff.)

Thoughts?

i wonder if the invisi-shield will stay on correctly this time with the combo of kevlar and splash coating and if its really even needed? is this the first phone thats had this combo? ive never used one b/c i dont like the texture and cloudy look and plus id never spray a phone with liquid. i could see using one on front though. its going to be a tough go as always when it comes to SP's. verizon will have a 3pack that doesent cover the droid buttons and all the reputable staples will be 2-4 weeks out. i wish power support would release a crystal film for this phone. theyre perfect

Covering up this hardware is going to be tough. I love the look of it so and a case may take away from it's beauty. What I would love to see is a pouch.

i usually go, sp+shell feather-style/nothing+leather holster. i know a lot of people hate the belt clip but if you get a quality one that is made of real and nice leather they look much better. but even these are hard to come by since the switch to 4.3+ screens. last gen, everything was similar in size to iphone so cases were easy to come by and im sure the same goes for pouches. nokia had a really nice one for the n95 back in the day that i loved that slid out sideways but its way too small.

this is my next phone so id like to see this thread pumped with info on what works and what doesent. i know its been said a lot but its a pain to look for accessories that work the way you want them to.

True, but I just want to avoid having any scratches or marks on my phone. If I eventually sell this phone (for the RAZR 2 ;)), I want it to be in near perfect condition.
 
This is getting tricky... Many places are selling out of the better cases/holsters FAST! I don't know that you can even find an Otterbox in stock anymore!

The VZW holster is nice - my wife has one just like it for her Charge. VZW wants $30 for it - she got hers on Amazon for $7 with free shipping. It also has a kickstand. I'll get one of those too once it's available.

In the meantime I'm gonna go naked with a ~$10 Cellet leather belt case off Amazon until more options become available. I have the same case for my OG Droid and it's great quality, low profile, and you can replace the clips if the break (though that's never happened to me for ~2 years).

Not going to put it in a case (too much hassle) and a scren protector is not needed for m with GG on it.

For Every smart phone that I got from Verizon I usually just pick up the Vzw Black Shinny Silicone case that they sell specifically for the model phone. Perfect for me, good protection, lightweight, and case is very good looking...

No screen protectors here....
 
Ima waiting for Steinheil to make a screen protector. I sometimes forget my DX has one on.

Perhaps mods should move this to a new "Accessories" sub forum?

Yep. You got Gorilla Glass so why spend money on a screen protector? I like the feel of the Ally without the screen protector and this phone will also be
naked.

youre not getting the right screen protectors. you must have had a bad experience with the look or feel. if you get something truly transparent that is cut perfectly and your fingers glide right over, sometimes even better than the stock screen, then why not have peace of mind on a $650 phone. plus razr has a bezel that might collect a ton of gook.

Even though I LOVE the looks and thiness of this phone, I gotta get a thin sililcone case for mine. It WiLL get dropped at some point, and I want the case, not my phone to take the beating. I usually don't like screen protectors either, but the one on my DX2 is actually really nice and I think I will do the same to my RAZR. The right screen protector won't hinder the looks of the display much.

I do not know about you, but I do not buy screen protectors for the feel or look of them on hthe screen, but for the protection. There is no screen protector that will look better than the bare screen and with GG there is little chance of scratching it anyway. I spend 9 months out of 12 in a desert where sand should normally scratch the hell out of my phone and with GG I only have one little hairline scratch. I am not going to make my phone look or feel even 5% worse than it does without anything on it.

little chance is not zero chance. and i never said it looks better, but they sometimes feel better(touch screen).
