I bought several cases for the T399, trying to find the best one.
For a while I carried mine in an
Aimo dual layer case. It was OK, but if you drop your phone, it might pop out of the case. What annoyed me was that the rubber would flap around and if you have a screen protector installed, rubber will push against the edges and lift it up.
This case provides great protection, but it's very thick, and leaves very little room at the USB and headphone ports, so it's very possible your jacks won't fit. The kickstand is a bit flimsy, and it's not like your Galaxy Light is great for watching movies, so it's kinda pointless. The thickness over the screen, while great for protection, also makes it hard to use, especially the nav buttons.
This case is absolute garbage. The tabs that hold the pieces together broke off the first time I removed the case. Plus it smelled funny.
The Astronoot case is worse than the Aimo.
The Amzer Pudding TPU case seems like it's just a hair too small, doesn't grip tightly, feels like it wants to pop out, and the cutouts around the buttons mean the plastic moves around a lot. A shame, because the glossy sides and matte back are pretty attractive for a TPU case.
Ironically, of all the cases I bought, it's
this cheap TPU case that I've found to be the best. It grips tightly, fits perfectly, and provides good protection for a low-profile TPU case. And it costs less than $4 with free shipping.
I almost bought one of
these, but it just looks way too bulky (although well made, and with extreme protection). That much protection on a phone I paid $120 for seems getting full coverage insurance on your '92 Geo Metro hatchback.
I was unaware of cases offered by T-Mobile (I tried finding them elsewhere, no dice), but they seem really expensive for what they are (just like all accessories directly from cell phone stores). I'll check them out at a store some time if I'm near one. The Incipio seems like it's not much more than a TPU or gel case. The Rigid looks like it might be pretty nice, but again, $30+tax? That's hard to justify, IMO. And this is coming from someone who bought Otterboxes for his previous 2 smartphones (twice, each). If Otterbox made a case for the T399, or Incipio made a DualPro case, I'd buy one. But of all the inexpensive cases, the $4 eBay TPU case is the best one I've found.
