Accessories Cases anyone??

What is the point of getting a fancy "slim" phone if you cover it up with a bulky case?
I've never yet gotten a case, I just take care of my phones and don't drop them. ;)

So those of you that have a heavy duty case can you maybe give some reviews? I recently got mine and need something durable. Thank you!

I have the Otterbox defender and I love it now the my wireless charger works I love it. Its a bit a bulky but I feel safe that if I drop it I will be fine!!

Do you use the screen protector that it comes with? Has it hindered your touchscreen at all?

Sorry for jumping in, but i was just about to ask that same question. If i get this phone, i want to put a Zagg screen protector on it, but i need to know if it will interfere with the use of the s-pen. Thanks for any replies.:p

I've not had any problems with the screen protector interfering with either the touch screen or the S-pen. They work flawlessly.

Does anyone know of a thin case that has built-in covers for the cutouts. Keeping the charging port covered while the phone is in my pocket, comes to mind. Also, i wouldn't want any pocket lint to get into the s-pen shaft. Thanks.:p

What do you think?

Which case is preferred for the Note 5? The Otterbox Commuter or the Verus High Pro Shield?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Like many on the forums I was contacted and offered a free poetic affinity case for my note 5 to review. Poetic also sent me a revolution case for my note 5 and an affinity case for my wife's S6. The affinity case for the note 5 is about a million times better than the one for the S6. The S6 case is a frosted clear back that has a horrible rainbow/oil slick look to it and the rubber parts are an ugly yellow. Needless to say the wife did not want to use it. It does fit nice and snug and seems like it would give decent protection, but she wasn't feeling the look and I don't blame her.

The affinity for the note 5 on the other hand is a lot nicer than I was expecting based on pictures I had seen online. The hard plastic back is super clear, occasionally it sticks to the back of the phone, but most of the time it's fine. The rubber provides good grip and has a nice lip for laying the phone face down. The case does not add much in the way of bulk and feels comfortable in the hand. The cutouts are good and the buttons are very responsive.

I'm really impressed with the affinity for the note 5 and I think I will continue to use it as my daily driver, which I did not expect.

The revolution case for the note 5 fits well and looks like it would provide a very high level of protection, but it's way too bulky for my tastes and the hook on the top corner is annoying. Would not buy.

I just picked up the Note 5 and religiously got the Otterbox Defender Series case. (I'm an Over-The-Road truck driver and have had Otterbox Defenders on all of my phones for several years; going way back to the Blackberry Curve 8330.) Anyway, I'll say a few things. #1) Samsung's Wireless Charger WILL recharge the phone through the Otterbox Defender as long as you center the phone on top of the charger. #2) I highly recommend getting the wireless charger so you don't wear out the data/charging cord and/or port on your phone. #3) The case for the Note 5 seems to be an improvement over the Note 3 version. It's less bulky and they seem to have improved the holster as well. (There were numerous reports of the clasp for the holster snapping off and the phone falling out.) **Another reason to get the wireless charger: You can charge the phone without having to take the phone out of the case or holster. lol

Anyone have this one? It's from Speck. I had one on my S2 Skyrocket and most recently on my S4. Love the case - it's just a little "pricy" compared to other offerings. I picked up a Note 5 this weekend and think that I will likely just stick with the Speck...

I just purchased the Note5 yesterday with the Speck case at Verizon store. I am very meticulous about a case and want to ensure it protects any "life accidents." I was not impressed with many of the other cases as they seem more "cosmetic" design than durable. I am searching for a leather holder which I can securely attach to my belt as I hate carrying the phone in my pocket as it is too unsecured for anyone to steal.

I got a Speck grip case for mine. I have an otterbox symmetry case too, that was the first case I had, I'm not letting myself get anymore.

I'm a recovering case addict :p
I'd go crazy with the cases, then when I got a new phone, I'd have to start again. It was insane and I won't let myself do that with this phone, I'm already pushing it with 2

At the risk of being THAT GUY............................
If you're gonna put a case on this phone, especially this phone, why not get the Note4 that actually has more features, costs less & surely will get updated to get the new S-Pen functions?

Just going off the assumption that one of the appealing aspects of the NOTE5 vs the NOTE4 is the different look & feel.
Most,if not all of that would be lost (covered up) w/a case.
Otherwise, you're actually losing features by moving "up" to the Note5 (no SD Card slot,no removable battery,no I-R Blaster).
I'm the same way, the Note 5 is a downgrade with no removable battery or SD card, plus you can't take off the back cover to paint them like I did. Plus the fact that the Note 4 recently got the 5.1.1 update. For that reason and quoted reason I'm keeping mine for awhile. The Note 5 looks nice, but does it look this nice?
I painted my own housing and case.

I've done many a notebook & phone, so I'm pretty good at it.

I added to my current Lenovo & Note 4 paint jobs: Carbon Fiber on front and Maroon on rear. When I show up at Starbucks... they sure gets the comments and stares.

I wanted a Note 4, but AT&T was sold out. Very sad about that. So I have a 5. Now I need a case that I can use my QI charger with. Even the cheap bumper case is too thick. :(

The stores do that to get you to buy the current phones. You could have ordered a Note 4 online instead... a friend of mine did last week when that AT&T told them they were out. ;)

Did anybody order a case yet?
I have tried Amazon and found nice cases and glass screen protector at a fraction of what is found at Best Buy or the Cell phone provider. Sprint wanted $40 for a case and found it on Amazon for less than $20. With patience you may find you will need to return the ones you don't like, just buy ones with the Amazon return policy. Good luck
