Cases for the RAZR MAXX

Just got my defender. Makes it about the size of the bionic. I opted too stay away from the commuter as it is way too slick and seems easier to drop. This bad boy is going to take any abuse like a champ! With 3 kids in the house and as a guy that enjoys being outdoors I think this is the right case. Plus I feel like those silicon cases and thinner ones don't really protect it from a drop, just changes the looks of the phone.

I tried both the Commuter and the Diztronic TPU cases. I love the look of both cases but they were both just too damn slippery in my hand.

I ended up going back to my regular old high gloss silicone case from Verizon (or ebay for $9). Not much to look at, but the thing has just the right touch of "stickiness" to make for a very comfortable and secure grip.

I bought the matte finished one and its grippy but not like the rubbery cheap flexo cases.

Its easy to get out of my pocket and with my very sweaty / gross palms, it does not slip out of my hands.

I ended up buying the Seidio Active case. It doesn't add much bulk to the phone and feels sturdy enough to keep the phone safe from short drops.

So far I've been happy with the black case that I got from Verizon. I've always preferred the Zagg screen protectors. If you like the naked feel, I know that Zagg offers a full coverage option that would give a slightly tacky feel instead of being super slick like the phone in its native state.

Quick question from the UK. Does the Verizon high gloss cover have the motorola logo on the back along with the kevlar pattern or is it transparent? The images ive seen arent clear.

I have the Diztronic high gloss case that came today which is a good fit but id rather it was more transparent.

Help appreciated

Hey everyone, have been reading here for a while but just now joined. Left the Droid X (love) to come to the Razr Maxx, which is the only phone that has even sparked my interest since the Droid X and due to the upcoming unlimited data changes at "Big Red", went ahead and got it. Had it about a week and love it, have a "Trident Aegis" coming for it but also want a lighter case and have been searching and searching.

*Side note* Why does the world cater to the iPhone.....it gets custom everything; cases, colors, designs, etc...

I need opinions on the three I'm torn between, saw mention of a couple on here, the other I don't recall seeing mentioned.

- Diztronic TPU Case

- Incipio NGP Semi-Rigid Soft Shell Case

- Spigen SGP Ultra Capsule
Edit: Spigen only for Razr (not Maxx)...I forgot

Unfortunately, being a new member I can't post a link for each, but I like all three, and really the Incipio & Diztronic look just about identical except for the power/sleep button access. I love the look of the Spigen but wonder if the price for it, and the Incipio, is worth it compared to the value of the Diztronic. Everyone's thoughts, experiences, issues, and etc...

Thanks!!

I have the Commuter case on the way. It's not as tank-ish as the Defender case. I have a Commuter case for my Nexus and while it does add to the bulk of the phone, the protection it offers is well-worth the price and added thickness.

I wanted the commuter but im so rough on phones I went ahead and got the tank. :p

The problem I see with a lot of the gel/silicone cases posted here is the opening for the sim/sd slot.

I don't like that opened as I never need to access that, let alone with the case on. I ended up with a case from a kiosk at the mall, it fits great, feels great, is easy to take on and off.

I'm not usually one to buy stuff from those kiosks, but I was waiting for the woman to shop and pulled the trigger on it

I bought the defender for my Maxx but hate the screen protector so took it off and added a good clear screen protector then put the defender back on what great difference just could not handle what the defender protector did to the screen. I can also tell you the silicon protector that Verizon sells does not protect the Maxx my daughter had it on hers it fell 2ft off of couch onto wood floor screen cracked all over only had it 4 weeks luckily I had the insurance.

This is a good idea. Im going to do this to my defender. Where did you get your screen protector?

I was about to go with the Seidio Active Combo w/ Kickstand based on reviews and the suggestion of DayDeal.com's video, then I came across the My Carbon case (made by BeyondCell.com) with really great reviews. The best case you've never heard of they say. Most of the reviews show it on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and I should expect the same for the Razr Maxx and it's more affordable than any other cases with belt clips.

Have you thought about looking at the Seidio Surface Case?

I just picked up my RAZR MAXX last week and purchased a Body Glove case on Amazon for under $15. It's a two-piece snap together case. On the back, there is a pop out plug where you can either have a smooth back to the case or one of those circular knobs that you can attach to the included belt clip that doubles as a kickstand. The case has a nice texture and feel to it. My one complaint is that it snaps together so good that trying to remove it is somewhat difficult.

My RAZR MAXX replaced my Droid X and my favorite case for that phone was the Incipio Silicrylic two piece case with silicone sleeve and hard acrylic backing. Incipio currently only has the NGP case which doesn't look appealing to me but they said they will be coming out with a Silicrylic case for the RAZR MAXX supposedly within the next week. I'll be looking out for the release of that case. And if you're an Incipio fan, I also got an email with a coupon code of "SUM2012" which is good for 20% off your purchase on their website (coupon code expires 8/20/12).

Is the Otter box defender worth the $40 I can get it for at the verizon store? I know I can get for a few bucks cheaper on ebay. But I don't know if I want to wait if I decide to get one.

Just got my Razr Maxx a week ago and I also got a good bargain deal from Amazon:

iFase Brand Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX XT913/XT916 Combo Solid Black Silicon Skin Case Faceplate Cover + LCD Screen Protector + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX XT913/XT916

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007I4WLYE/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

I wasn't looking for anything extravagant, just a nice black silicon case, and I also got a screen protector and an extra sync/charging cable for less than ten bucks shipped. just wanted to share in case anyone else might be interested :D
