It is official, Casio is getting out of the smartphone business as their deal with lenovo did not happen.
They can no longer be bought new from Verizon

Don't be expecting any firmware updates anytime soon, if ever.
So, if you are looking to switch, you could try the Galaxy S Active series, or move the the Nokia line of smartphones for Windows Phone.
 
As long as mine continues to be usable I will continue to use it. I see on here that some are having problems, thankfully I'm not yet. After the last update I don't want another because it is seeming to follow the path of the other Commando where each update made the phone worse. Its a great time for the updates to end. I have a KitKat tablet and I don't see where it's any great improvement. I do not like the pastel color scheme of lollypop and I have removed all the updated apps that supported it. The new calendar is a mess and I am running a blacked out one I downloaded a year or more ago that works well and looks good.
