Catching a theif?

So I keep hearing about all of the cool software you can get for the iphone which allows you to take pictures remotely and track what a theif is doing on your iphone/Mac computer. Anyone know if anything like that exists for Android? I curently use Lookout, however being able to take photographs would be helpful if my tablet or phone were to be stolen.

So, please, I am looking for software that will either take photos or track what the user is doing. Please do NOT recommend something that does what Lookout does--I already have it. THanks!:p

Indeed, this is possible in android too... Ever hear of Track & Protect?

Ever lose your phone? Worse yet, ever have it stolen? Then you might be interested in a new Android app called Track and Protect from KlompTek of the Netherlands. It allows you to remotely lock down a lost phone, change its ring profile, sound an alarm, imitate a call from it, or even snap a photo in an effort to capture the crook that nabbed it. KlompTek’s site can also be used to locate your device on a map. It’s very slick, and worked really well.

Track & Protect froze in the middle of the set up procedure on my GNote/4.0.3. After providing my details I received a bunch of passwords and registration numbers via SMS but nowhere to input them. Or whatever. The Track & Protect app just sits there, playing dumb.

And since I don't need a PITA and already have alternatives that DO work I uninstalled Track & Protect, and can't recommend it on the basis of hands-on experience.

I too would like to know what the best anti-theft app is for my recently purchased Galaxy Nexus. Thanks
Pete

I have written a tasker routine that takes a picture using the front facing camera of the person attempting to use my phone. It then emails the image to my account and includes the current GPS location. I can recall a current location by sending a coded SMS message to my phone. Your phone needs to be rooted to use this routine however.

I'm currently working on incorporating Glympes into this routine for continued monitoring of location.
