Help CDC Serial Driver: Is it really required?

I just got my S2 yesterday and I just ignored the CDC Serial Driver required message from my computer. I have been able to move files to my S2's main memory and SD card with no problems so far. Is the CDC Serial Driver really required? My PC runs Windows Vista Home Edition.

No, not seen it. However I'm in OSX or Win7 most of the time. I'll try on my old XP box in the am if I get a chance and see. IF you're moving files fine though, I wouldn't worry about it.

This fixed it for me.

Kies Air came pre-installed on my t-mobile Galaxy S II jaydubb2k5 which is probably why I can still do file management with my PC even though I always get that annoying prompt too try to obtain the CDC Serial driver whenever I plug in my device.

Anybody have any ideas how I can stop that from happening?
