Hi,

I rooted my phone recently and am interested in unlocking. This phone here was previously broken once so I do not wish to invest money in unlocking it, however am willing to put in the time since that investment applies to multiple devices.

Also, I am curious, how do those sites that sell codes get them? Do they have a keygen or something?

Ok I have a question I have a EVO V but its s-off running jbear1.50.50.50 can I get onto sprint? Imvon virgin but my buddy wants to buy my phone and hook it up to his sprint account. I dont see why it wouldn't work but I javent a clue so any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank You...

It can be done but it's complicated and involves changing the esn from the virgin one you have now to a sprint one...(illegal and against forum rules to talk about in any detail)

the only legal way that i know of would be to go to sprint and see if they can add your evo v esn into their data base. virgin mobile is part of sprint,so if they can determine a clean virgin mobile esn, maybe they can do it for you. after all the end result benefits them-wich would be you paying more for a plan every month :)

curious if you have a htc evo v & flash a sprint rom will that work & then activate it online? or does that not work & if thats the case would that apply for boost mobile who also uses sprint? by flashing a rom for the boost mobile or sprint one just by activating it i figure it would probably be harder too do it for a sprint because theyll want some kind of contract deal too get the best deal u can get from them but as far as it goes for virgin u could buy a phone new from the store go home & activate it yourself online , idk if they make boost mobile htc evo 3d but just wondering if that can be done i do like Virgin theyve been nothing but good too me , but just a question cause with boost u get unlimited everything for a set price & can eventually work ur way down if ur committed long enough to everything for the 35.00 range but with Virgin mobile u get what u pay for 35.00 = 300 voice .unlimited text & data 45.00 1200 voice unlimited text & data or 55.00 unlimited everything ,
so even though virgin mobiles service offers the intial cheapest route if ur committed to your phone & the carrier long enough with boost you actually get a better deal for commitment

Unfortunately there's more to it than just running a carriers ruu or Rom. The parts of the phone that tell it what towers to look for are elsewhere, and not affected by the operating system itself.

Using a cdma device on a different network depends entirely on the carrier, and wether or not they will accept esn's not originally on that network.
