Root [CDMA] Decreased touchscreen responsiveness...

What causes the decreased touchscreen responsiveness, that most ROMs, even stock ones, suffer from? The screen gets all spongy. You're forced to slow way down on typing, etc... I can't stand when it happens.

At some point, everything in a device either gets tired or exhausted and that's what happens to most touch pads. Oil fluids like gasoline, hair or cooking oil might also cause touch pads to become unresponsive, especially the most sensitive ones.

I hear ya. I was referring more to the temporary instances when ROM's I guess are just to taxed or the occasional poor compiling or build of a nightly. You can't scroll, enter text, do anything without exaggerated taps and at half speed or worse.
