Root [CDMA] failed while rooting.

when installing su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip it gives an error at "creating SYSTEM:xbin/su symbolic link..." installation aborted

Phone boots up fine and works but I dont have root

Do you have s-off? If not, follow the sticky that shows you how to s-off.

Do you have clockwork or twrp installed? If not, or unsure, follow the sticky that tells you how to install a custom recovery.

OK.. reloaded the file to the SD card and installed it successfully. at lest it said so

I still dont know if I have root BUT Im trying to run Wireless Tether and it runs "with errors" the error is Activating WiFi interface... (failed)

Im lost here

Do you have the super user app installed? And which recovery are you using? Clockwork or twrp?

I do have Super User. Dont believe Im running any recovery. I just verified root by downloading Titanium Backup and ran it.. Seems to just the the problem above with Teather

Yeap - that's a known problem with Wireless Tether and 3G on this go-round. Works ok on 4G, tho.

Barnacle Tether seems to work for 3G, per other around here.

If you have s-off, a recovery installed (don't forget to make a nandroid backup! ;)) and can run Titanium Backup no sweat - you're all set and good to go!
