Hboot 1.4 and under rootable through revolutionary
Hboot 1.5 and up, only rootbale through HTC unlock. The fact that HTC unlocked their bootloader means no support from Revolutionary.
You can flash roms once rooted through HTC unlock. However the /boot
file is unwritable, but there is a workaround for this which allows you to flash custom roms with custom kernels and custom kernels alone. Roms with stock kernel are easy to flash. let me know if you have any questions
Because to achieve those benchmarks you have to clock it all the way out to 1.78GHZ. Disable anything that could be running in the background and to be safe I also put it in Airplane mode, lol

I must admit... I'm still a bit confused.
I'm rooted through Revolutionary, hboot 1.4, and I loaded CleanRom. I am unable to update to 2.5.1. Is this because I'm not on hboot 1.5?
I am looking at the updated Senseless, but it also requires hboot 1.5.
Thoughts?

you dont need 1.5 hboot, try downloading the sip, rename it pg86img and put on root of your sdcard, boot into hboot and let it update

then boot, remove, boot into recovery and try to flash again. you need the firmware and radios from 1.5 hboot update but not the hboot. try this and report back

this is technically 50% correct and 50% wrong.....
If you read the actual first webpage of the htc unlock site..it
clearly tells you that the evos in the right hand colum in green text are not unlockable !!!!

I am going to stab my lightsabre clean thru this evo 3d and kill the sucker... I hate sprint so bad its not funny...
What they did was illegally disable the wifi on my evo after i canceld service... Yep..they killed the wifi...

holykrap! They have updated the models that can be unlocked !
Their may be some hope... I was jumping the evo ship and headed for some other comm device as sprint had told me they would never unlock my version of the software about a week ago...
Well...thank you for catching this and showing me before i took the plunge to tmobile....

my evo is perfect..it has no issues has no flaws... I use wifi every day.. Yesterday i let them shut off my voice - data plan, went to bed..wokeup, tried wifi.. It was disabled !!!!!
Sprint ....this isnt over by a long shot... My lawfirm is coming for you... This is going to a class action suit..because if your doing it to me..your doing it to everyone..and its illegal under u.s. Federal law...
