i cannot believe, what i just did.

i've been part of the rootin/romin community for not quite two years now. never once have i broken the cardinal rule.

i've flashed loads of stuff to mine and my wife's htc heros. later her evo didn't last a day w/out root, and then later a romimprovement.

not one time have i ever forgotten to make a nandroid.

tonight i finally take the time to root my 3vo. and in my excitement, the first thing i do is flash the netarchy's silverneedle test5.

i forgot to nandroid.

so i don't have the pristine and pure stock nandroid that we all feel good having to fall back on.

anyhoo... anyone know where I can grab the stock kernel? ;)

I forgot to nandroid for a couple days after I updated to ViperROM 1.3 and redid all my home screens. Then while I was sleeping the internet completely shut down on the phone, so I had to nand back to 1.2 and update, then redo all my home screens. SOBs

NAND those WiMax keys, you can't get those back, and im pretty sure they are 192bit RSA cypher, which means you are Fed

are the RSA keys backuped up by the cwm nandroid?

[[[i've seen running this:
sed -n '/BEGIN CERTIFICATE/,$p' /dev/mtd/mtd0 > /sdcard/rsa_OEM.key

from a rooted terminal in guides for the evo4g. probably a redundant and wise thing to do too, eh?]]]

EDIT: so that doesn't work on 3vo. there's no such dir as /dev/mtd/

According to novox77, CWM started ensuring the keys backup several revisions ago, for the Evo.

How's that for the hand-off? :D :D

Anyway - it reports what it's doing as it goes along - and I **think** I saw it doing that - so - I'll post back here after my next nandroid (which is coming right quick (sometime today) because of the update).

ha. yup. during a back up, it says:

Backing up boot image...
Backing up recovery image...
Backing up WiMAX...
Backing up system...
Backing up data...
Backing up android_secure...
Backing up cache...
No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
Generating md5 sum...

Backup complete!
